Shape the Ambitious Years

 

Key Responsibilities

We need someone to support the work of the school improvement team, working on the ground in our schools. In particular we need someone who will lead the work on KS3, one of the priorities for our strategic plan 2026-29 to turn KS3 into 'the ambitious years'.

You will also:

  • Deliver leadership training for middle leaders across the trust
  • Teach on the National Professional Qualification Award programme and any other programmes as required
  • Lead the work on implementation of the curriculum at KS3, providing coaching in schools as necessary
  • Support schools to implement the revised national curriculum
  • Support schools to prepare for inspection and to work intensively with our secondary schools that are in need of additional support
  • Develop the system of assessment across our secondary schools and ensure that we are making the best possible use of available data to support school improvement 
  • Ensure that systems and processes are in place for effective transition and transfer at KS3
  • Work with strategic partners such as Mary Myatt to deliver on key performance indicators
  • Work with leaders across the trust to drive forward the agenda for inclusive schools

Person Criteria

We are looking for someone with:

  • recent successful experience of delivering curriculum at KS3, KS4 and preferably KS5
  • a detailed knowledge of the curriculum at KS3 and KS4
  • a detailed understanding of the most recent research on successful teaching and learning
  • experience of working across a range of schools to support school improvement
  • coaching experience and preferably a qualification in coaching
  • experience of designing and delivering professional learning
  • leadership experience at a senior level and/or a professional qualification in senior leadership
  • experience of leading successful change
